Victor Shearer was born in Reading, Pennsylvania, in 1872, the son of Sarah and Christopher H. Shearer. In the early 1900s, Victor Shearer followed in his father's artistic footsteps and began to produce landscapes that were almost indistinguishable from Christopher H. Shearer's works. Victor Shearer eventually developed his own style, working on several canvases simultaneously, all reflecting a remarkable likeness. Shearer died in Reading in 1951. He is buried in the Alsace Lutheran Cemetery.
